Healing Narcissistic Wounds: Exploring Recovery

In this episode, we explore the complexities of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) with Alex Solomon, who reveals that NPD is better understood as a trauma disorder originating from adverse childhood experiences. Clinically diagnosed by nine symptoms, social media often confuses NPD with self-centeredness. Our guest explains how deep-seated shame and a fragile sense of self underlie narcissistic behaviors, which are maladaptive responses to avoid further rejection. We also discuss intergenerational trauma, the biological need for community acceptance, and the shamanic concept of soul loss. Practical advice includes seeking therapy to establish boundaries and developing energetic boundaries, especially for caregivers. Combining therapeutic approaches with spiritual healing offers a holistic path to recovery and self-acceptance. This episode supports episode 14.
